Let's Get Minimal!!

Went to UP Visayas last Tuesday to process my MA and paint the town with some style. Since it was insanely hot, I opted to shed some layers and werq a two piece look. The oversized top and skirt are equally perfect when it comes to comfort and sartorial purposes.

The town of Miagao has a very special place in my heart since I partly lived there for four years when I was finishing my college degree. Visiting the place after graduation brought a lot of wonderful memories of friends, academic struggle, fashion, and lots of faggotries.

Its kinda awkward to sashay in a place filled with new faces, I remember proudly rocking any eccentric outfit
in College, but being in the middle of many strangers makes me conscious. Well...

What I am wearing:

Oversize shirt: Post-MOD
Skirt: Post-MOD
Sandals: 5CM
Spiked headband: Divisoria
Leather Bag: Divisoria

Spikes, spikes, and more spikes!! My friend Ryan's addiction is so contagious! hahhaa

Fab sandals from 5cm, Thanks Donatella Versace for bringing back the trend!!

Hugs and kisses..

Philippine Fashion Week Day 3

Wore this outfit during the third day of Philippine Fashion Week. I was inspired by the darkness of the Japanese avant-garde invasion of Paris in the 1980s, some star wars elements, and my love for all things dark, eccentric, and flamboyant.

I was so elated when I saw this alien-esque top from a thrift store in Quezon city. It was perfect with my black maxi skirt from Post-MOD.

Alien Top: Thrifted
Skirt: Post-MOD
Clutch: Comme des Garcons
Shades: Divisoria
Sprikes: SNM (Gifts from Ryan)
Rings: Divisoria

Please hype this look!! xoxo

Gladiators from 5cm, too bad they cannot be seen in this photo!!
Spike accessories given by my fabulous friend Ryan. I call this the "Can I speak to Anna Wintour please??"  look, haha :)

My equally fierce, sartorial friend Ryan werquing his spiked cap, asymmetrical statement shirt from our label Post-MOD.  skirt from Post-MOD, and customized shoes from the Red pumps. fierce monster shoes indeed!
That night was so maaaajor because I met one of my greatest style icons in life. KARL LEUTERIO!! he's so humble, nice, and major fierce!!I died a thousand deaths... chos!
Congratulating fabulous Vania Romoff for a fantastic collection. It was beyond Chic!! Parisian-chic!!!

Margiela chic versus Prada Princess. Karl and Marvoi. Marvoi always stands out from the four of us because his sartorial choices are always filled with colours, colours, and more colours!

fierce Karl and fabulous Em.

'Twas a night filled with fierceness, sartorialisms, and a lot of fashion chica. Until next season!!!

Strike a pose!

THE BEST OF PHILIPPINE FASHION WEEK: SPRING 2013

Last month, me and my friends were lucky to attend the biggest gathering in the Philippine fashion industry, The Philippine Fashion Week held at the SMX, SM Mall of Asia. We were lucky to get good seats and witness each designer's spectacular pieces come to life. With fabulous friends Em, Marvoi and Ryan.

Here are my top picks among all the other designers who presented their collections during the week-long event. (in random order)

EZRA SANTOS:

Filipino Pride Ezra Santos showcased a stellar collection filled with strength and femininity. The opening look with supermodel Ria Bolivar was just super jaw-dropping!!

GERRY KATIGBAK:

THE ASIAN TREND started by Prada continues!! Showing intricate embroidery, sheer fabrics, and soft layering, the collection exudes the perfect fusion of regal beauty and modern edginess, couture-techniques of the grandiose past and sartorial trends of the modern era.

Seeing Jasmine Maierhofer werquing the runway was a divine experience. She's the Philippines' Gemma Ward!

ROLAND LIRIO:

WHO SAID THAT COLOR-BLOCKING IS OVER??Roland Lirio's collection featured an army of models in sportswear-inspired color-blocked ensembles perfectly styled with visors, gloves, and leather pieces. One of the edgiest, and most playful shows during the second day of fashion week.

VANIA ROMOFF:

"DIVINE!! CHIC!! OMG, I DIED!! SUPER-CHIC!!" Those were the words which came out from our mouths when the collection was unfolded right in front of us. Vania Romoff is not just one of the prettiest designers in town, but one of the most talented. Her collection reminds me of Alber Elbaz's fluidity and sophistication. "Chic" is too weak to describe the perfection of her collection.

CARY SANTIAGO:

The pieces were beyond Couture. Origami Folding, elegant draping  and sophisticated architectural silhouettes, the designer truly shined with one word above him: GENIUS.

JULIUS TAROG:

A marriage of femininity and strength.  Julius Targog's androgynous army paraded in mesh plastic like materials, metallic chokers, leather, and sheer. The collection starring supermodel Charo Ronquillo as the first face was a perfect homage to Stella McCartney's athletic chic.

VEEJAY FLORESCA:

Hailed as one of the best young designers of his generation, Veejay Floresca continued his metamorphosis as a Project Runway alumni to a world-class Filipino designer. He continued the art deco trend started by Gucci last year, but with his own signature vibe such as excellent tailoring, sheer ensembles, graphic cut outs, and a futuristic, androgynous feel.

RENEE SALUD:

The designer resurrected the beauty of the Philippines' Colonial past through nude dresses with couture embroidery. Red show stoppers reminds me of Galliano's flamboyant drama in Dior and  Valentino Garavani's timeless masterpieces. For the nth time, Mama Renee Salud proved that he's one of the unrivaled pillars of Philippine Fashion.

CHERRY SAMUYA VERIC:

Ambrosial Sophistication! The divinity exuded by the collection was highlighted by the fabulous bead work, sheer sexiness, and a perfect juxtaposition between elegance and sex appeal. This collection shows the true definition of grandeur.

JINGGO INONCILLO:

My favorite menswear collection of the season, Jinggo Inoncillo proved that menswear is not a boring fashion niche by presenting a collection of mixed prints, pinks, purples, and soft hues. The first look with rose embroidery was beyond perfection!

BO PARCON:

If Im just a woman, I will definitely dress up in two styles: Ulyana Sergeenko's ultra femme style, or urban-chic-minimalism. Bo Parcon's latest creations took my breath away with his monochromatic pieces in asymmetrical hems, flowing cuts, lightness, and deconstructed vibe.

Ria Bolivar: Powerful cheekbones, Powerful walk. The country's Natasha Poly! QUEEN! WERQ!

ENRICO CARADO:

J'adore the Print on Print!! The collection filled with Peplums, florals, and leather created an ultra feminine, playful vibe. Perfect summer dresses for fun-loving ladies!

Ultra fabulous cap! I died over and over again!

JOT LOSA:

Clean, sophisticated, chic. Those are the three words that came inside my mind while seeing the collection. Perfect embroidery, perfect lightness, perfect tailoring. The collection was pure and heavenly!

XERNAN ORTICIO:

Severely tailored, lethally fabulous. Xernan Orticio is one of my favorite Filipino Designers. His works bordering from chic to avant-garde are always consistent, always show-stoppers. The black and white looks styled with religious iconography remained loyal to the designer's aesthetic. A pure, powerful aesthetic that will surely catapult him to the heights of Philippine Fashion, or the world.

P.S: I always find Xernan's amazing work as the Philippines' version of Maison Givenchy. BEYOND AMAZING! Bravo for this magnificent designer!!

CONGRATULATIONS FILIPINO DESIGNERS!!
Keep the fire of fabulosity burning, and see you next season!!
WERQQQQQQQ! ;)
